I'm generally not a fan of the Faery world stories partly because they rarely turn out with happy endings partly because most faery stories seem to be rehashes of stories I've already read and partly because dark fantasy just isn't my thing However this story is different enough that it doesn't strike the same note of not again I get when seeing most faery stories If you're a fantasy fan you'll probably enjoy this one If you're a faery story lover then by all means don't miss this one but if you're like me and just don't care for the whole faery genre then perhaps you don't want to read this one but perhaps you should give it a shot because although it's a lot of things about faery I don't like it's one thing I always enjoy in a book and that's a really good story and you can never beat a really good story told well

This review may contain spoilers This was given to me in ebook form from Confessions of a Bookaholic for review Summary Blowing off steam at a Saturday night party with the girl you really want to date can lead to hearing your friend’s thoughts pissing off the Faery King and imminent mortal danger – If your sixteen year old Kevin Landon instant freak his new normal a best friend with a secret A doomed Rock ‘n’ Roll singer A kidnapped father Only Kevin can save them But first he must survive the Hunt What can I say this book was action packed I loved it I would give this book 455 not sure if this is aimed at YA as there were a couple of words that would worry me if my 12 year old daughter read it but then it would be ideal for a 1617 year old boy to read Well lets start on the characters First you have Kevin our hero who it turns out is a freak he can hear people’s thoughts when he is in mortal danger but that’s not as freaky as some of the characters his new best friend Rude real name Rudolph not the reindeer who it turns out has a massive secret that would freak out most people then there is Amy the girl Kevin has a major crush on and which seems completely mutual between them There is Oscar the seer who is Rude’s mentor can’t say much without giving it all away there is the school councillor Mr Nance who until later in the book you don’t know if he is good or evil we have Stacy Short for Anastasia After the Russian princess who always seems to be about Then there is Simone the half faery half human being who seems to have a crush on Kevin and will help him whenever she can she can also sing you into a stupor she can make you think about whatever she wants you to when she sings That’s magic we have Kevin’s dad who has completely lost the plot which is understandable as he lost his wife Kevin’s mother then there is the evil Faery King and the wild hunt who is after Kevin and all the minions who the king has chasing Kevin too this is definitely a book that will keep you engrossed page after page after page The story line in this book was great it was not hard to follow at all I would easily recommend this as a great read if you love the Fae but not the nice down the bottom of the garden variety these fae are uite nasty although towards the end I was growing to like the Faery king not sure if that was the authors plan but then that could just be me ; I hope there is a book 2 as I would love to know what happens next for all the gang especially Kevin I don’t want to give too much away but his life will be forever changed at the end of the book and I want to know how he carried on with life after

What an incredibly exciting and engaging story Claire Crow has written I was thoroughly engrossed and enjoyed HUNT from start to finishKevin is your normal average teenage boy going to school partying with friends crushing on a girl But beneath all that him and his father are dealing with grief and loss And then one night at a party Kevin starts hearing voices And from that point on his world is thrown into a whirlwind of faeries police who aren't really police a seer The Hunt and The Faery King Yeah his life becomes anything but normalThe author has done an incredible job in writing a teenage boy She has made Kevin completely real The dialogue was just what you would expect a teenage boy to say and think He swears Not a great deal but hey teenage boys swear And while there is no sex he does think about it And despite what us as parents like to think our teenage boys are thinking about sex I love an author that can weave those things into a young adult novel without it being misplaced and overpowering And Claire Crow has managed to do just thatThe author has woven together a story of the supernatural filled with suspense action romance friendship grief loss pain and love I would have no trouble in recommending this book to anyone who loves a fantastic supernatural read

I discovered this author through her short fiction especially from the Uncollected Anthology collections so this is my first time reading one of her longer works Kevin is in high school dealing with the death of his Mom his Dad's collapsingunhealthy reaction and the usual school drama when he starts experiencing psychicparanormal occurrences While I enjoyed the book and finished it I did not find it as compelling as some of her short stories perhaps due to the fact that this is a much older work? Undoubtedly her writing has improved over the years especially in the depth of her characters I believe this is a preuel to many of the stories I have read I especially enjoyed the interplay of human vs Faerie

ExcitingThis is the vastly rewritten version of Hunt Kevin makes a few appearances in the Soul Forge books and I had always been curious about his story the how and the why When Kevin hears other people’s thoughts in his head he thinks he’s going crazy I found this to be a well written book In a way that made me want ; exciting I found myself thinking where is this gonna go? I really liked the story the pace It was intriguing It’s clear there are things coming and I want to be a part of it For the record there are some profanities I don't mind but I know a lot of others do

Ήταν ένα αρκετά μεγάλο βιβλίο χωρίς ιδιαίτερη πλοκή
