The Incomparables is a book of six stories surrounding the men of the Battle at Waterloo I will review each story individually as I read them Interlude With a Baron by Cerise DeLand StarsHotness Rating out of 5 The Captain's Heart by Suzanna Medeiros StarsHotness Rating out of 5 Love After Waterloo by Suzi Love StarsHotness Rating out of 5 Dreaming of Waterloo by Lynne Connolly StarsHotness Rating out of 5 For Love or Revenge by Dominiue Eastwick StarsHotness Rating out of 5 Tarnished Honor by Sabrina York45 StarsHotness Rating 3 out of 5 Tarnished Honor by Sabrina York was fantastic Seriously this story has it all The characters were likable and made me laugh out loud in many places They were well developed and made my heart hurt The passion they shared was sizzling and the story was filled with all of the elements that make a story fun to read Daniel Sinclair held so much guilt over the death of his friend during battle He just keeps beating himself up over the what ifs of the past He struggles with his guilt so much that he hasn't been able to make himself meet up with his best friend's sister to give her his final gift to her a chess piece that he asked Daniel to make sure she got He's pretty much put himself in a self appointed time out and just keeps his distance from people as much as possible When he comes across the young boy that goes by the name Pip in his travels he does all he can to get rid of him But he likes the kid and begins to think maybe he can do some of his penance by helping the kid out Fia Lennox misses her brother terribly Finding out he had died in battle was hard enough but as her only remaining family she was now being kicked out of the elite girls school she attended Actually kicked out was too nice of a word She was being relegated to servant rather than student In an attempt to protect herself from being assaulted Fia defends herself and then has to flee into the night Traveling alone as a female is way too dangerous so Fia does the only thing she can She disguises herself as a boy and sets out It was too funny to watch Fia try to hide who she really was from Daniel When she discovered exactly who he was and the guilt that he felt she wanted nothing than to ease his pain but she knew he would end things if he ever found out who she really was I definitely recommend this story to anyone that enjoys adventure and love with an entertaining make you smile style of writingYou can find this review and others at wwwriverinaromanticscom

Six romance writers have combined forces to create this 6 story historical romance novella collection where the heroes have all survived the battle of Waterloo Released in time for the anniversary of that famous battle Cerise DeLand Sabrina York Suzi Love Lynne Connolly Suzanna Medeiros and Dominiue Eastwick have brought their imaginations out to play in this collection I’ll work in order of appearance here so first up is Interlude With A Baron by CeriseDeLand A story of first love separated by circumstance Drayton has never forgotten Emma or the cruel mistreatment of her at her father’s hand Her husband is a brute and she too is remembering the first flush of romance and her feelings for Dray But when free she won’t be coerced into another disaster marriage has only brought her pain ad heartache can she truly believe that Drayton will be different? The Captain’s Heart by Suzanna Medeiros is up next and started with the angst and guilt torn alliances and conflicting goals that made me wonder if Edward and Grace could ever find a path to one another A big surprise in hat it carried the angst and emotion early on that I have come to crave in my NA reads it was fun to find that in a historical that slowly turns to make a destined for love story even with a third party doing their best to intervene Love After Waterloo by Suzi Love and this Australian author never ceases to miss in the depth of her characters fully infusing them with heart while adding a sublime touch of heat to her stories Anne is a young and pregnant widow and working as a nurse to avoid her in laws meddling and controlling Gabe is a doctor and not particularly interested in having women around His jaded and forthright expression of this belief can’t allow him to deny the feelings that are developing But when they return to England and are separated by society and circumstance Anne never needed his help or intervention While I found the shift in their feelings if not pronouncements rather uick it did suit the tone of uncertainty of a battle romance and the characters were palpable and believable Dreaming of Waterloo by Lynne Connolly is next on the eReader and Paul and Hetty are the first couple before and after the war On his return expecting the demure bride he left Paul finds that Hetty has come into her own and is seemingly content with his continued absence This is a story of push and pull his guilt and the effects of the war pushing her away even as his upbringing and belief of how a man should be push at him to take charge and be the ‘strong’ one These two were easy to empathize with but a bit difficult to come to love she deserved from him and he needed to allow himself to let go of the guilt and embrace the woman she had become Dominiue Eastwick’s For Love or Revenge is next up and one of my decided favorites giving me characters that I wanted of and would love to see again Roarke is damaged and broken bent on revenge but just constrained by his gentlemanly upbringing and sense of honor that he desperately hangs on to with both hands After a horrid marriage Alex has broken free of its constraints and is living her live content with what she has because she makes her own rules From meeting to declarations of love this story was laden with heart and surprises and incredibly hard to see come to an end Tarnished Honor by Sabrina York is also top of my list of favorites Daniel and Fia what a delicious couple both running from their pain and torment and finally right into one another’s arms Daniel’s guilt is a third character never knowing just how strong Fia is until her strength and bravado born of desperate circumstances props him up as well Their interactions are wonderful bringing light into many of the dark corners in which Daniel sought to hide and the story couldn’t have ended any other way Fans of historical romance will want to snap up this collection a wonderful way to meet new authors that could become your next favorite A solid collection with memorable characters and stories encompassing the timeless ramifications of war and the hopefulness of love I purchased a copy of the anthology for my own personal collection I was not compensated for this review all conclusions are my own responsibility

You would think by now it would be impossible for me to be amazed by the talent of Sabrina York However every now and then she surpasses even my expectations This lady can write an awesome story in any time period Tarnished Honor is part of The Incomparables Boxed Set If MsYork's story is any indication this box set is going to be awesome Daniel Sinclair was injured in the battle at Waterloo He suffered a leg injury and also feared his manhood had been injured as well He also lost a few dear friends and he has a horrible time dealing with their loss and feels like he let them down How could I not instantly feel a connection to this hero? Fia Lennox lost her only living family in the battle as well Her brother was one of the solider killed She is away at a boarding school with no funds to pay This poor girl goes through so much and is only saved by the good graces of a wonderful friend that helps her hit the road Daniel and Fia end up traveling together This leads to some dramatic moments that left me in awe of Fia's talents There are also some humorous moments that had me laughing out loud And of course this story is written by her Royal Hotness so there is some incredibly steamy scenes that left my kindle just a little HOT I also found myself with a few tears during some of the dramatic moments that were filled with a lot of emotions Overall this is a typical Sabrina York story that kept me enthralled from page one all the way to the end This lady has a massive amount of talent and it is always FUN to see what story she is going to come up with next She has done just as awesome a job with this historical romance that she does with a contemporaryI have a feeling this whole box set is going to be terrific with all these great authors joined together to tell us about the heroes of WaterlooI was given the opportunity to read this great story so that I may share my thoughts with you As always it has been my pleasure to share my thoughts with you on Tarnished Honor

Nobody does historical romance betterI bought this box set specifically to read Sabrina York's story Tarnished Honor It was every bit as wonderful as I hoped it would be A wounded war hero nightmares what we now know as PTSD He is living as many wounded veterans do on bare minimum subsistence When he is called to his home to find out what his late uncle beueathed him he meets what he thinks is a boy on the road and together they find adventure love and perhaps redemption for the horrors of war For it is not just the war heroes who suffer but also the ones they left behind Wonderful story Now I must go back and read the other stories in this wonderful box set

Historical romances are my favorite go to read I initially chose this anthology because of Lynne Connolly Nobleness Obliue Dreaming of Waterloo All the other authors were new to me Love this concept all the heroes and some heroines attending a ball just before Waterlooand then their stories afterward Perfect All the stories fit well into the anthology and I am glad to add this to my library I would have given this book 5 stars but sadly the editing misplacedmisspelled several of the main character's names In a layout like this name switches get confusing Overall it did not deter from each storybut hope it can be fixed in the next edition Still Sabrina York and Suzi Love are now on my TBR radar
